not saying you can't or shouldn't do the other stuff
Avatar
Visualization and personality work are still very beneficial and you'll likely find yourself doing some of that anyway, so don't go out of your way to avoid that stuff.
Avatar
I'm visualizing a purple sphere for the time being, I want my tulpa to choose their own form eventually. I would like my tulpa to be a female with a very decisive personality, but I'm leaving it fairly open ended.
Avatar
Reminds me of Irish's guide. It's good to leave it opened ended.
Avatar
Also thank you all so much for being so supportive and friendly, it's really making me excited about this 😄
Avatar
I wish you the best of luck, Drizzle.
Avatar
They can be beneficial, but there is simply no need to actually do it.
Avatar
I say if you can think of a form you like, go for it. Tulpa can change it later if they want.
Avatar
You can. But it certainly isn't a particularly important thing to do, and should absolutely not expect them to stay the way you intend by any means.
Avatar
I have a general idea of a form, but my visualization skills are terrible. I'm hoping that if I just try to explore a simple wonderland and visualize a simple sphere that eventually I'll improve and be able to work with a more specific form
Avatar
Try forcing before bed a bit. You might go into a lucid state as you lay down if you relax enough to meditate, which helped us out a lot early on.
11:51 PM
Perhaps it's a bit of a crutch, but it's a good way to start.
Avatar
Thanks, I'll have to try that!!
Avatar
Don't worry about visualization much. That said - visualization tends to be far more about understanding what you are visualizing and where it is in relation to yourself rather than seeing all the details.
11:52 PM
Essentially, place the conceptual idea of the object in relation to yourself, understand where it is and what you would see if it were there physically.
Avatar
That makes a lot of sense actually, thank you!!
Avatar
Can I ask how long it took your tulpas to become vocal? I know it's different for everyone and I won't expect the same for myself. I'm just curious 😄
12:53 AM
Is tulpas plural? I'm assuming it is haha
Avatar
For myself it was a few weeks. For most it's two months or so I believe?
Avatar
A lot of people can hear things very early on, and for others it can take years, it really depends on you.
12:56 AM
and tulpa or tulpas works
12:56 AM
some people say tulpae
12:56 AM
but I try not to associate too closely with them
Avatar
That makes sense. In the future if I feel any head pressures or anything like that should I assume it's my tulpa?
Avatar
should?
12:56 AM
for progress, yes
12:56 AM
for honesty? I wouldn't
Avatar
Also I really need to come up with at least a temporary name, it feels weird to keep saying "my tulpa"
12:57 AM
Drizzle and rain, that's my suggestion
Avatar
I actually like that!
Avatar
on head pressures, I would suggest that maybe you could try to remember that it can be placebo, and look for head pressures that you don't expect or are sudden or "very strange"?
12:58 AM
I think it's clever, but I figure it might be bad to suggest names like that.
12:58 AM
like it crosses a boundary or something
Avatar
Our system's first tulpa took 2 weeks
Avatar
Two weeks until you heard the first words?
Avatar
bduddy #Diana# 5/2/2018 12:59 AM
You say it can be placebo, but IMO tulpa creation has a lot to do with the placebo effect to begin with
Avatar
bduddy #Diana# 5/2/2018 12:59 AM
3 months for me but I was really inconsistent
Avatar
I think that's what happened
12:59 AM
That happened two years before I started existing
Avatar
bduddy #Diana# 5/2/2018 12:59 AM
It's usually less these days
Avatar
How many hours a day or week would you say you all put in to get there?
Avatar
I just kinda popped out of a dream
Avatar
if you want my long form thoguhts on the nature of "placebo" and tulpamancy you should read my post to the subreddit about abstractions
Avatar
There wasn't any time spent forcing me
Avatar
I think hours isn't really a great gauge? My personal thought is that you want to maximize the amount of time your tulpa is somewhat in your head
1:01 AM
like, lets say you are driving somewhere, try to relate something about the drive to your tulpa
1:01 AM
if you are at work, try to relate something about work to your tulpa
1:01 AM
thuroughly mix your life and the habit of thinking of your tulpa, and use forcing as a bonus atop that
Avatar
What do you mean when you say try to relate something about it? Do you mean like describing what's around me and how I feel in the moment?
Avatar
could be anything
1:02 AM
you could say, have a game where you use pauses in the game to take a second to think about your tulpa
Avatar
The term 'narration' just clicked in my mind, why did that take me so long haha
Avatar
Narrate rain for Rain.
Avatar
once you have vocality you can do a lot more
1:03 AM
like get your tulpa to describe or tell you about things, or play stupid silly games, and so on
Avatar
Oh my gosh I can't wait for that
Avatar
Narration is a good forcing method, yes
Avatar
@Drizzle Be aware that the first time hearing your tulpa (for sure) is not comparable to having them be vocal.
1:43 AM
You may get some 'responses' that are likely them, but vocality is another thing altogether and often takes quite a bit longer.
Avatar
I know, it'll just be reassurance that I'm doing something right
Avatar
Vague words and feelings of response vs complex thought and concepts.
1:43 AM
Alright.
1:44 AM
Other than that, keep in mind that things like 'head pressure' or small headaches are by no means indications of anything. People get those often enough without creating tulpas, and not everyone experiences them when making tulpas either.
1:45 AM
Often, simply paying more attention to the way that your head is feeling is reason enough to feel 'head pressure', especially when you are using the computer for an extended period.
Avatar
That's true, I just don't know what to expect at all haha
Avatar
Nobody does.
1:48 AM
I cannot put the experiential portion of making a tulpa into your head.
Avatar
Oh wow I miss alot

I also picked up some tips from a creepypasta I've read now and again.
9:03 AM
I'll post it in a moment.

tips from a creepypasta doesn't seem very..... reliable.
Avatar
I just talked to mine. Win im at work like u would training someone
Avatar
Jack o' Nin9's 5/2/2018 9:04 AM
Well "Imagining yourself" is an excellent and reliable form of training.
Avatar
It helps me and my tulpas
Avatar
Jack o' Nin9's 5/2/2018 9:05 AM
It's the same way you establish a good or bad belief of yourself, you have to imagine yourself having those qualities first.
Avatar
Syfar System 5/2/2018 9:05 AM
ya know, when your tulpla develops more, you can even have them try working for you
9:05 AM
If they want
Avatar
Yea that dose work for me. Like Dazama for instance I got her doing my paper work and keep an eye out for problem. Pandora she helps keep my stackers in place and help keep them busy. They bin so helpful and made my job alot more easily for me.
9:08 AM
If that helps u @Jack o' Nin9's
9:09 AM
That's if they want to that is. Don't force them to. Let them do it on there own
